The oldest just turned 15 the youngest is 8. In Kid Nation 40 kids learn how to survive in the middle of no where for 40 days. I think it's cool that kids that ranging for 10-13 are the rest of the kid's leaders. The kids loaded their things in a wagon and instead of an animal pulling the wagon the kids have to. If I had to do that I would not make it that far.
The girls and boys split up and they go into this cabin. When they get there they have to make dinner using a book they find in the cabin to make dinner after failing to make pasta. They run into a couple problems, such as the water isn't boiling. They finally finished the pasta and it looks disgusting. Two of the younger council members have a hard time because its stressful and they want an actual bed and real good looking and good looking food.
The next day they finally have figured out how to make better tasting food, but some of the kids are getting mad at each other because not everyone is getting food. Some of the older kids are bullying the other kids and blaming them for making mistakes. I think that they are going to give Michael the gold star because he stood up and made a speech for everyone that the council members make mistakes and that they are just trying to help, and everyone listened.
Each person has a different colored team and they have to choose who they want on their team. One of the little boys think that he isn't smart or strong enough because he is young. Some of the older boys wrote blue on everyone's banners on their doors.

Each district has to compete against each other for their jobs and pay checks. Some of the jobs include cleaning toilets, cooking, or running stores.
They have a showdown to see which team gets which job. The first place is the upper class. The rest get lower down. The red are the upper class, the blue are the merchants, the yellow are the cooks, and the green are the cleaners. The other teams cheer on the green team so that they finish. The reward is between an outhouse and a T.V. The council members choose to have outhouses.
Next they go to the different stores and buy candy and soda. One of the girls from the green team had to dance to get money to buy a bike. Now the council members have to decide who gets the gold star, but they struggle because the Taylor, the youngest council member, wants to go home.
